Long Time No See?!

Hey... Its been really really long... More than four months since I last updated something on this blog... Because its been a rather busy Year end you know! Went to India after what seemed like a whole lifetime thinking that my long 45-day vacation would be long and refreshingly awesome! But time just flew like that in just a blink of my eye! That's rude! Really!

Ofcourse part of it was also because the trip was not actually a vacation but rather a pilgrimage TBH! Visited temples like crazy! Shuttled from Hyderabad to Chennai, From Chennai to Karaikkudi, then again back to Chennai, again to Hyderabad, from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, again back to Hyderabad, then back to Chennai and from Chennai Back to US. Phew! What a shuttle match its been!

Its not that I didn't get to have some awesome memories! I met my near and dear ones including the new additions.. (Couple of my friends recently became parents! Yayy!) Shopped, ate, spoke a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot (Fought a lot too! But lets not talk about that! Happy memories Divya, for good time's sake!)... It was a blend of every little thing and the trip made me realize just how much I really miss when I am here... Golgappe and Biryani of my own Hyderabad, The beach of Chennai being the most important things I missed apart from my loved ones!

Its been a great trip indeed! :) And with all these Heavy, yet Happy memories... I got back! :)

I am a Harry Potter Maniac! And I am proud of it!!

Yeah! Am a 27 year old person and I developed the hobby of reading only after I came to know about this awesome series... My English improved, so did my self-esteem, my confidence, my soft skills... Reading Harry Potter was the basic step I took... I was an average student in my schooling... Never had interest in academics.. But this book, changed everything I felt about studying or reading or improving... Hated dictionaries, hated big books... Not anymore... It helped me from getting myself out of my shell.. The timid introvert girl in me disappeared and the bold me took over my life... And it has never been the same ever since... I was pretty tough competition at academics, debates, elocution, drafting and even at public speaking... Which later made me go into media... Because I got a hold of myself... I knew where I am good at... What I am capable of... How content I am with me... I think this... reading Harry Potter was the best thing I did though it was just out of curiosity, and also because I had a crush on Daniel Radcliffe! <3

Its not just my hobby, but I learnt a lot of things from all the characters of that book.. I could proudly say that I left my pessimistic attitude behind me for good... I was strong about myself, learned to love myself, learnt to be my best critic so that I wouldn't give another person to point me,,, If people say its just a fictional novel, I wouldn't agree with the "just" part.. Because it taught me things which made me what I am today... I owe J. K. Rowling for this,,, She is the best... My friends and even my husband said this a lot,,, "Why do you go ga-ga about Harry Potter?" Well, when you read it just like some random book, that's what you feel.

Even today, if I am having a rough day, I'll just open some Harry Potter book and open a random chapter that lifts my mood and poof!! I am cheerful one again! That's the "magic"! That's why... Keep calm and read Harry Potter! You won't be sorry!!!! :)

Ocean Shores!

Summers have never been so productive in my life! Productive in the sense, I've been working out a little, Reading a lot, Learning more and traveling often too! So over all, this summer has been so good! Been to some places which are really worth seeing... Astoria, The Pacific, Olympic National Park, Quinault Lake, Long Beach, Botanical Gardens.. Oh God I even forgot some places... The greenery and the warm sun... Its a bliss... Though its the hottest summer of washington, it was long and very good!! Gonna take with me some really worthy memories When I go home for the winter! Mom, I really miss you... I wanna see you ASAP... I miss everything about my home really!

Oh what an year! I won't say its has been so wonderful and cheerful, It had its share of unpleasantness as well... But no... Happy times Divya! Just talk about happy times!! Somethings are best experienced rather than wasting time in describing them... Its a total waste of time because for me, I suck at elucidating my thoughts right! Well.. Atleast if things stay the same way then that's all I ever ask for! Fingers crossed!! Amen! :)

Did someone call you a "Bitch?"

Yes! I bet that every girl in her life must have been called a "bitch". I never really understood from where this term really came from but it became so casual and so ready-to-use for everybody just for anything!! I doubt if some people really know the true definition of a bitch! And some girls even think that being called a bitch is something to brag about.. Really? Are you kidding me? And the other day I was in the mall, a group of high school girls ended up yelling at each other with horrible words... "You are a slut!","You are one F*** Bitch!" Girls come on! Unless you stop calling yourselves like this, you can't ask a guy to stop all this right? And guys be like, "Stop bitching around!","Don't be such a Bitch!", and last but not the least,"You son of a bitch!" What's that supposed to mean? And using this particular bitch term has become so cool and popular that its even being modified as Beeyoches! Really? And no women or girl gives a damn about this! Girls wake up!!! You can't be called like that for everything!! Watch any sitcom, stand-up comedy, movie.. If there's a dialogue with a Bitch in it, People love it! Disgusting!

See this ? "Bitchology".. Seems absurd yeah but this explains a whole lot of what's actually goes on in a girl's life! And when I shared these things with some guys, they said, "Big deal! We call our friends bastards!" God help You! People!! Its not right! Neither bitch not bastard is right!! You absolutely can't let this thing carry on and pass on!!

Even if a girl and a guy are in a relationship, just like any other couple they have their share of arguments and rough patches, and they, like numerous other couples, end up calling each other "Bitch" and "Son of a bitch" respectively!! Where are you going? If you wanna scold a guy scold him.. Why bring his mother in between.. If you have some issues with a girl tel that to her... Call her a stupid or an idiot if she isn't making any sense... Why call her a bitch?

And some girls be like, "Hell yeah!! Am not A Bitch!! I am The Bitch!!" What does that even mean? Girls.. Do you even know where this is going? Let me quote a few examples..
1. You have many friends among boys, You are called a bitch!
2. If you work late nights, You are a bitch!
3. If you smoke or drink, You are a bitch!
4. If you wear short dresses, You are a bitch!
5. If you laugh out aloud, You are a bitch!
6. If you are bold, You are a bitch!
7. If you get raped, they say, "She was being a Bitch! Serves her right!"
and last but not the least!
8. If you take a selfie and post on your profile, You are "An Attention-Seeking Whore!"

What in the name of God is happening...? Please take a moment and think about it... A note to boys, "Don't defend yourselves saying that, we call them bitches because they act like one. No. You should not! If you can't handle her then admit it like gentlemen. Don't just call her a bitch and feel you are cool.. On a contrary, You are pathetic!"

Famished!!!

Never occurred to me that summers will be so Hot and Humid here in Seattle too... But being near to the seashore, yeah! Its taking a toll on me! I actually didn't like Seattle at first because it used to rain almost everyday and I felt the city always cries! Heheee!! I know its a little exaggerating but the damp city and the damp wind made me think so! And now I am famished for rain! Yeah I admit that I am so cheesy! May be I am not alone in that! And there is one more reason for me wanting rains soon... Because, not to be rude.. Am tired of seeing people doing sunbath in their Undies every morning! Yeah sounds hilarious but that's true! The temperatures went beyond 90 Fahrenheit and it was unbearable! Nights have become tough too.. I was under the wrong notion that Seattle will be damp and cold all the year.. Leased an apartment with only a heater! And now realized I am all nuts! Anyways, I woke up in the morning with splatters on my windowpane, and saw this beautiful site... All of a sudden a dampened city which I was always tired of, seemed so beautiful and scenic to me! It made my day... Knew from the weather forecast that Its gonna shower all day... That's why, wasted no time.. I went out promptly, got wet, and came back home! And now chilling out with awesome headache! Lolz!! Am happy!!!

Stop Rape!!!

I don't even know how to react to such bizarre incidents... An innocent 6 year old girl getting raped by a teacher??? Where are we going? I can say that if such things keep happening, every mother will pray that she shouldn't give birth to a girl... Female infanticide takes a whole new purpose, and that will be the end of mankind for sure.. Everybody, every man, including my own dad... They all blame women for their dressing, their lifestyle... Some filthy hypocrites even go to the extent of saying that, women empowerment is the reason behind rapes... And one gentleman whom I know (Ofcourse I regret being friends with him now) said that, "If a girl doesn't wanna get raped, nobody can rape her... She surrenders 'easily' And thats why rapists get their grip!" What Bullshit is this??? Be real men, zip your pants and fight for your sisters, your mothers, your friends... Don't just blame a girl for everything... Even the great political figures and renowned cops, shame on them because they make such stupid controversial statements on a woman's lifestyle, all in all concluding that its the woman who provokes men to rape her! "Kabhi kabhi ladkon se aise galtiyaan hojaate hai!" , "If the girl called the rapist "Bhayya" then she wouldn't have got raped", "Girls should stop wearing jeans to avoid rapes","Girls shouldn't get social with boys","Girls shouldn't wear makeup!".. Seriously??? Are you kidding me??? Do you have anything called a brain in that big fat skull of yours?? And look at those lamest of the lame punishments those bastards are sentenced to... And the girl, along with her entire family, are shunned by the society, they are literally slaughtered with humiliation.. She can never have a normal life she deserves... And yet you blame her??? They say she should have taken a brother or some man with her for her safety... That's not the whole bloody point is it??? Why the hell should a girl get so scared of a neighbor? an old man next door? her boss? taxi driver? her boyfriend? her colleague? Her classmate? Why???  I am telling you... And I am not ashamed of this... I am from a very middle class family and I always use public transport to travel.. I always wear a normal salwar suit, I wear a scarf round my head.. Do you know how many times I was being groped??? How many times I faced eve teasing?? I have even seen small school girls being brushed and violated in broad public transport... But I made sure that every single scoundrel who messed with me, would pay his price... But how many women out there actually dare enough to stand up for themselves? they can't! You know why? When I slapped the guy who was groping me and started shouting at him, people around me were merely enjoying the show but nobody seemed to care a damn!! Being around such ignorant fools only makes women more and more introverts and they shut their mouths for the rest of their lives... And many get violated and assaulted by their husbands, parents, relatives and never ever open their mouths... "Family Prestige!!" Such atrocities!!! Yeah Yeah I know pretty well that its just me whining!! Like always!! But who cares??? Dear girls... Please listen to me.. Please... Because this is very important... You should never let your guard down... Never let somebody make the more out of you and violate you... Just "STAND UP TO YOURSELVES!!" Don't think back... Be bold and be brave...Because now you know... Real men are rarest of the rare kind... So you just cannot rely on anybody... Give a tough fight till your last breathe... Yes, even if it costs you your life.. Fight for your self respect... All the mothers out there... Teach your daughters some self defense.. Worry about her grades later.. Guys, instead of lecturing us about what we should do or wear, if you really care, watch out for us... All the dads... Don't just run after some NRI or handsome guy for your little girl... Make sure he is mentally sane enough... And most of all, dear girls, God forbid, but if a life threatening assault is at your door step, make sure he pays a terrible price before he ruins you...!

Nostalgia!!

Its been more than a year since I landed here in US.. Though my family spent some great deal of my childhood transferring to many places around once called "Andhra Pradesh".. But the meaningful part of my childhood to adolescence was luckily spent in My "Hyderabad".. I called it my home.. The moment I set my foot there... This city made a kiddish girl, a woman...This is the place where I earned some really good friends, alibis and a good career... Learned a lot, thrived a lot... I've Learnt the typical Hyderabadi Hindi which I feel, is the awesome slang any language can ever evolve into... Its something like always being home... The yummy dum biryani, haleem, gorgeous bangles in the old city, the hussain sagar... more than 15 years slipped off in Hyderabad.. And now I really really miss it a lot... I miss hanging out with friends, watching the usual local streets and noisy evenings, traffic jams.. Pani poori, What not!! For some reason I never liked Madhapur area... Felt its a little off the usual city's style... Friends called me I am just being nuts but C'mon!! Charminar is the authentic Hyderabad!!! Even on Ganesh Chathurthi, I know how much of a deal it is in Hyderabad.. It just has to be Hyderabad and no other place to see the festival... And Holi will get a whole new look in Hyderabad... The film nagar is a whole new place where you can spot an aspiring artist, or a musician, or a wanna-be-director sitting in the local cafe's explaining some movie to his audience while having some irani chai... Loads of engineering college buses buzzing around the city... The bus stops packed with people... Its a city that never ever sleeps!! Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills are off limits to me! Yeah... I shunned them because I feel they never imbibe the true spirit of Hyderabad in them... The list can go on and on... I can't even express it... Once I go back... I feel like never coming back here again! :) But I have to!! Miss you "Hyderabad"!! Miss you loads!!! You hold my life in you...!!! :)
